Civil Engineers/Designers

Responsibilities will include site/civil design of engineering projects, MicroStation, AutoCAD and design study experience, including knowledge with site/civil design software. WisDOT experience is a plus. Position responsibilities will include overseeing road and bridge projects.

Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or EIT, PE preferred.

Experience: Two to five years in civil design experience.

 

Construction Inspector

Observes work in progress to ensure conformance with specifications. Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards. Maintains daily report of construction inspection activities. Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from plans and incorporates changes into master plans. Inspects equipment operation and materials on job site. Interprets specifications as related to materials and workmanship. WisDOT experience a plus.

Receives moderate supervision from senior-level Construction Services staff. May be assigned to work independently on a project with some complex features.

Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.

Experience: Minimum five years of relevant progressive experience; or the equivalent gained through relevant experience.

 

Structural Engineer

Performs work of considerable difficulty in the review of contract documents for overall constructability (to improve construction bid results, and minimize change orders), compliance with applicable State and Federal Codes, and completeness with emphasis on structural systems. Reviews preliminary and final plans and specifications for two types of reviews: Constructability and Risk Management. Incumbent will be responsible for communicating verbally and in writing recommendations for additions, deletions, substitutions, and modifications when necessary. WisDOT experience is a plus.

Education: Completion of an undergraduate major in engineering from a four year college or university and successfully passed the EIT (engineer in training), PE preferred.

 

Civil Technician I

Provides semi-professional support to engineers for WisDOT projects. Reports to Project Manager or Department Manager. Performs routine tasks under close supervision. Work is checked in progress, and upon completion. Compiles engineering data from drawings or field notes. Performs arithmetic computations using specified formulas. Plots data, and draws plans from direction.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience: Two years of engineering or technical vocational training.

 

Cadd Technicians

We are currently seeking an Engineering CADD Designer/Technician. Prior work experience with MicroStation required, experience with AutoCAD desirable. Responsible for preparation of roadway, site/civil, bridge and building plans under the supervision of Professional Engineers. Familiarity with preparation of plans in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Transportation standards plus.

Education: Equivalent of a computer certificate/degree or equivalent CADD class training.

Experience: One to three years of experience.

 

IT Specialist

Engineer who is familiar and competent with ITS and Traffic engineering tasks. Engineer should be familiar with Microstation and MS Office software. Engineer should be able to work well in a team environments.

 

Construction Project Administrative Assistant

This position will include creating correspondence, filing, reviewing documents, data entry, contract review and a variety of other responsibilities. Requires teamwork, good organizational and communications skills. Must have a high level of expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Access.

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent

Experience: Two years minimum related experience required.
